QuestBridge provides financial aid to America’s brightest students through its various programs. Some selected students are offered a full ride to the college they match with through the National College Match Program.
What is QuestBridge?
QuestBridge is a national nonprofit organization that gives primarily students from low income households education and scholarship opportunities at various colleges across the nation. It has partnered up with 40 accredited universities to offer the National College Match Program.
National College Match Program
This selective college scholarship program offers outstanding low-income high school seniors full four year scholarships to the most prestigious universities. The scholarship covers virtually all expenses whether it be tuition, supplies, travel expenses, room and boarding.
Eligibility and Criteria
The QuestBridge National College Match Program is open to high school seniors.
Students should have an academic profile which meets or exceeds the standards for the colleges they have selected in order to be successful applicants for the program.
Many finalists generally have had the following:
- SAT and PSAT scores over 1300
- ACT scores over 28
- Class rank in the top 5% to 10%
- Evidence of strong writing ability, intellectual spark, and determination through essays and teacher/counselor recommendations.
- Maintained a high gpa with primarily As and relatively few Bs
Finalists generally come from families earning an income of $65,000 or lower. This is not a strict requirement so students who feel they face significant financial hardship to review these financial criteria carefully to see if they may qualify.

To sum it up, QuestBridge is looking for students who face socioeconomic obstacles and aspire to achieve academic and personal excellence.
What materials are needed when applying?
Students applying to the National College Program need to have and finish:
- National College Match’s two essay and short answer questions
- High School Transcript
- Two letters of recommendation from teacher in core academic subjects
- SAT or ACT scores
- School Profile(recommended)
Students will submit their applications sometime around the end of September. Then in October students are notified if they are selected as finalists. In December, students are matched with a college are notified and have successfully won the scholarship.
In the end, QuestBridge provides great help to low-income students in college admissions. They make it possible for high achieving low-income students to attend college where they couldn’t have before.
